How do I identify a fish?
Go to the Catches tab and tap the "Scan" button next to the search bar, then take a photo of the fish or select one from your gallery. Our AI will analyze the image and provide identification results within seconds.
How do I log a catch?
After scanning a fish, tap "Save Catch" to add it to your history. You can add details like weight, length, location, and notes. You can also view and edit your catches in the Catches tab.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device, find FishWise, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Why isn't the fish being identified correctly?
For best results, make sure the photo is clear, well-lit, and shows the fish's distinctive features. Try taking the photo from a different angle or in better lighting. Our AI works best with clear, focused images.
Is my data backed up?
Your catches and trips are stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, your app data may be included in your device backup.
How do I restore my subscription on a new device?
Open FishWise on your new device and go to the menu. Tap "Restore Purchases" and sign in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Are the fishing regulations accurate?
We strive to keep regulations up to date, but they can change frequently. Always verify current regulations with your state's fish and wildlife agency before fishing.
How do I buy lures through the app?
Tap any lure in the Tackle Box to view its details, then tap the orange "Shop on Amazon" button. This opens Amazon with a search for that specific lure. You can also browse Amazon from the Shopping List view and from bait recommendations in Spot Analysis. FishWise earns a small commission from qualifying Amazon purchases at no extra cost to you.
